It’s practically April already – just where has the first quarter of this year flown to? I’m currently contracted to a role at the Barbican – Europe’s largest multi arts organisation to be exact – so I’ve always known my time would come to an end by July later this year. So amid all the good intentions a new year brings, I started back in January to initiate conversations with the sorts of people you need to talk to in order to project your career and self to that next level.
And this is where my blog comes into play. It’s not an approach I’ve tried before or even considered, but one that I’m thoroughly enjoying and learning so much from. In an age where we’re all racing into the digital era, I’m not going to get left behind.
As a good friend once said, “Shy girls don’t get promoted,” so in the words of another friend I’ve sought to “Get involved” and more so than I usually do. Through my blog I hope to offer an insight into my way of thinking with regards to the social and cultural influences we’re surrounded by. Without the risk of sounding virtuous or self righteous; I’ve often felt I don’t fit the mould, especially with regards to my career. And although I haven’t written a diary for years, through Camuah I hope to offer an insight into me and my vociferous and acquisitive need to acquire and share knowledge/opinions. All of which I hope will also be fed by you and your comments, suggestions and insights.
I’m just looking to form the rungs of a ladder for somebody who has her heights set high and has only just begun to reach and tap her glass ceiling. I want to, “Make Things Happen”. Watch this space…
